Course:         FFP 2541 PRIVATE FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS II

Description:  This course is an in-depth discussion of pre-engineered and portable systems, extinguishing agents, inspection procedures for code compliance and enforcement, and alarm systems.

Cost:             The cost of this class if you are a Florida Resident is $89.88 per credit hour.  This is a three credit hour course.  If you are not a student of Edison State College the cost to register and become a student is $30.00.

Sign in as a student – Click the link at the top of the page that says “myEdison Portal”.  Sign in using your name and password.  If you don’t know it, use the help features next to these fields.  If it has been a long time since you were a student you may need to click the IT link just underneath these field and they will help you.  Once you are signed on, go the page that says “Student Services”.  Look halfway down the page in the middle of Registration Online and you will see “Look Up Classes To Add”.  This will redirect you to a secure site.  Search for classes in Spring of 2009 (or the term that you are in) and hit submit.  The site is going to bring you up all the classes that Edison offers throughout all their sites.  Under the “subject” search field, use the arrow until you have selected “Fire Science – FFP” and then hit class search.  This will bring up all fire science classes.  Use the CRN number at the top of this form for a quick search.

Approved for 4 hours of CEU’s for each course for Firesafety Inspector/Special Fire Safety Inspector

 

Costs:

Registration Fee – Free for members of Lee, Collier or Florida Fire Marshals and Inspectors Association.  Registration Fee - $50.00 for Non-Members.  Please do not sign up if you can’t attend.

The FlameGuard Inspector Training Class will include fire performance and installation of CVPC pipe as well as information on proper hangers, solvents, pipe bending deflection and incompatible materials.  Steve Carmichael is a representative for Spears Manufacturing Company and has regularly attended the Lee County Fire Marshal’s Meetings.

 

The Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Fire Sprinklers Systems will include training on fire sprinkler systems and fire pumps (diesel and electric).  Mark Eckard is the National Director for Cintas and formerly was a Fire Protection Engineer for Lowe’s Corporation.  He has also been a member of NFPA Committee on Rack Storage.
